PortalX (previously called Delano) is a file delivery and approval tool that is tied in with our pre-press department and our Apogee X pre-press system. This gives back complete control to you, the customer. As it is web based, you are not dependant on our working hours, significantly improving proof approval turn around.
How do I get this service?
As it is web based all you need is Internet access. The speed of the system is determined on your connection. All you may need is SVG viewer and Java plug ins that are both available as free downloads.
Can anyone access my files?
No, the system has a unique username and password protection that will only allow you to access to your own jobs. Access privileges can be set so only authorised approvers will be able to approve or reject pages.
What happens to my files once I have uploaded them?
Once you have uploaded your files, they are delivered to Apogee X where they are: Normalised, preflighted, ripped, then downsized and uploaded back into PortalX. Where they await approval from the customer.
Do I have to check all my pages online?
PortalX gives you the option to both check and approve the pages whilst online. If you wish, you can download the ripped PDF and check at your leisure. Although to approve the pages you have to log back on.
Does the PDF match what will be on the press?
Yes, as the PDF that you view has been through our rips and when we process the job it goes through the same rip with the same settings.
What happened to my pages once they have been approved?
Once approved PortalX sends a message to Apogee X, it will then export the high-res PDF ready for our pre-press operator to impose.
