- Add 3 mm bleed.

To allow leeway for cutting differences in production, always add a bleed of 3 mm around all edges of your design. Make sure colours, background pictures and layouts extend into the bleed area so as to avoid leaving white lines as a result of cutting tolerances.
- Keep 8 mm safety margin from the top.

Keep all important text and images at least 4 mm away from the edge of the finished size, with an exception for the top part. The top 8 mm is not printable, this space is needed for the machine to process your envelopes.
- Resolution of at least 300 dpi.

When you choose to print a product with solid colours, the design must be supplied with Pantone Solid colours. You can find out here more about the different colour modes.

- Which carriers are used for the delivery?

For the delivery of your Envelopes (Pantone Colours) we use multiple carriers. We use our most reliable carriers, which in most cases are UPS or DPD.
We also use DHL and our own courier service. However, these carriers are only used for certain products (depending on the size, the turnaround and the quantity).

If your material type, weight, quantity, size or other specification is not listed, you can request a quotation. It is also possible to request binding in another colour. We will send you our offer within 1 working day. Depending on the complexity, this can take a bit longer.

Pantone colours are often used when a design only contains 1 to 4 colours. Pantone colours have a unique code within the Pantone Matching System (PMS), so that the result of colours used is always the same. PMS is mainly used for: Letterheads, envelopes, business cards and compliment cards.

Which envelope size should I choose?

C4
C4 (229 x 324 mm): the largest standard envelope size, suited to an unfolded A4. Suitable for thicker documents, folders and contracts.

C5
C5 (162 x 229 mm): a common size for an unfolded A5 or an A4 folded in half. Suitable for letters, brochures and documents.

C56
C56 (114 x 229 mm): an elongated size between C5 and C6, suited to an A4 folded into three. Similar to DL but slightly wider.

C6
C6 (114 x 162 mm): the smallest standard envelope size, suited to a folded A5 or an A6 card. Fits a letterbox and is cheap to post.

DL
DL (110 x 220 mm): an elongated size for an A4 folded into three. Widely used for letters, invoices and invitations.

EA5
EA5 (156 x 220 mm): slightly larger than C5, suited to an unfolded A5 or an A4 folded in half. Suitable for letters and documents.

What is an address window and which option should I choose?

Window left
Window left: a transparent address window on the left side of the envelope. The address on a folded letter shows through, so you do not print it separately.

Window right: a transparent address window on the right side of the envelope. The address on a folded letter shows through, so you do not print it separately.

Without window
Without window: a solid envelope with no transparent panel. You print or write the address yourself. Gives a clean, uninterrupted design area.

1 colour PMS on front, unprinted on back
1 colour PMS on front, unprinted back: the front is printed in a single PMS spot colour and the back stays blank. The most economical choice for single-colour artwork.

2 colours PMS on front, unprinted on back
2 colours PMS on front, unprinted back: the front is printed in two PMS spot colours and the back stays blank. Suited to a logo and text in two fixed colours.

3 colours PMS on front, unprinted on back
3 colours PMS on front, unprinted back: the front is printed in three PMS spot colours and the back stays blank. For artwork with several fixed brand colours.

Which material can I choose?

90g offset white
Standard uncoated, 90 gsm: white, uncoated paper at 90 gsm, just slightly heavier than printer paper (80 gsm). A bit firmer, with a tidy look.

Which closure can I choose?

Gummed
Gummed: a flap with a gum layer that you moisten to seal. The classic envelope closure, suited to larger quantities.

Self-adhesive strips
Self-adhesive strips: a closure with an adhesive strip under a protective liner. You peel off the liner and press the flap shut, with no licking needed. Handy for sealing quickly and neatly.
